Helen Rothwell
Associate member of both the international dance teachers association and the united kingdom alliance. Helen specialises in tap, ballet, jazz, street dance, irish, ballroom and latin.
Helen became a Zumba instructor in 2010 and has basic 1 and 2 qualifications.
Dance has been a big part of Helen’s life! She attended dance classes from the age of three, she has competed and been very successful in many dance competitions and participated in many performances. On leaving school Helen went on to work as a trainee dance teacher within a well-established dance school. It was here she trained for her professional qualifications. During the ten years at this company Helen was responsible for managing dance and fitness classes for both adults and children. She has been successful in choreographing shows, gaining awards and entering competitive dance teams into competitions. Amongst many other roles Helen was invited to be an adjudicator at competitions across the North West.
During 2005-2006 Helen took a year out to work in Cyprus, she gained work with the institute of dancing arts in Larnaca and Oroklini. Whilst here she had full responsibility organising classes in ballet, tap and jazz. A little command of the language was necessary which she grasped and still recalls. She also held dance classes for adults and children on the British army base in Larnaca. This was a very enjoyable experience for Helen and she has fond memories of her time in Cyprus.
Looking for a new challenge Helen set up Fusion Dance and Fitness in July 2011. She offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, street dance, Irish, cheerleading, fitness, Zumba, ballroom and Latin.
In January 2014 Helen became a dance and sports coach for Sportscool. Delivering PE sessions and after school clubs in many primary schools. Since becoming a coach at this company Helen has also gained some sports qualifications.
Helen teaches all sessions with a fun and friendly approach.
